Strive Vineyard
Strive Vineyards is a family-owned farm, winery, and vineyard on the Willcox Bench in southeast Arizona, inside the Willcox AVA. A husband-and-wife team built it from bare land bought in 2014: off-grid, 100% solar, at 4,400 ft between the Dos Cabezas, Chiricahua, and Dragoon mountains. We designed, built, and host strivevineyards.com, the site that introduces the vineyard, sells the wine, signs up club members, and brings visitors to the tasting room.
The challenge
Ryan and Desiree run Strive alongside full-time careers, with a vineyard an hour southeast of Tucson and a tasting room in downtown Willcox. Their buyers are mostly travelers: people planning a weekend in Arizona wine country who decide where to stop from a phone search. They needed one place that explained who they are and why their wine is different — estate grown, off-grid, built by hand — and told visitors exactly where to go and when. It had to sell the club, point people to the wine, and take inquiries, without becoming another job for a couple who already work two.
Goals
Project goals 1. Build the brand around the name: "strive" — set big goals, persevere, celebrate the small victories. 2. Tell the founders' story, from a failed home winemaking kit to an estate vineyard on the Willcox Bench. 3. Show what makes the wine distinct: the Willcox AVA, high-desert terroir, solar-powered sustainable farming, and estate-grown varietals. 4. Drive tasting-room visits with clear hours, locations, and a booking path. 5. Grow the wine club and route people to the wine selection. 6. Make contact easy: phone, email, a message form, a map, and social links on every page.
The approach
We built the whole site around the dictionary definition of the name — strive: to make great efforts to achieve or obtain — and the "V" in the logo, which stands for the small victories along the way. Every page returns to that idea, then hands the visitor a next step: see the wine, join the club, or come taste. The public site Welcome. Opens on the definition of "strive," then places the vineyard: family owned, on the Willcox Bench, inside the Willcox AVA, 25 minutes from downtown Willcox. It links out to the region's draws — Fort Bowie, Cochise Stronghold, the museums — to sell the trip, not just the wine. Calls to action lead to Our Selection and Join the Club, and the page closes with the contact block: address, phone, email, a message form, a map, and social links. The Vineyard. "Green sustainable farming in the high desert." It covers the sandy-loam and clay soils at the foot of the Dos Cabezas range, the 2014 land purchase, the off-grid solar build the couple did by hand, the 4,400 ft elevation, and the six estate-grown varietals: Sauvignon Blanc, Picpoul Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, and Primitivo Syrah. Offerings. A menu group holding Our Selection, the wine lineup, and Join the Club, the membership pitch. Club members get complimentary tastings. Our Story. "Embrace Life's Challenges. Savor Life's Victories." Ryan and Desiree's path from UW–Madison to Arizona, a first batch that was undrinkable, a carboy that exploded in the guest room, a home winery built in its place, and land in Willcox, where 85% of Arizona's grapes are grown. It ends with the mission and a link to visit. Tasting Room. "Come sip with us." Two locations, two sets of rules: the downtown room on historic Railroad Ave, open daily 11–5 except Tuesday, and the vineyard room by private appointment. Flights and souvenir glasses are for sale, with a Book Your Visit button. Contact. Reached from every page through the footer and header: phone, email, Facebook, and Instagram, plus the full contact block on the homepage. Navigation is a single, short menu that reads like a visit — Welcome, The Vineyard, Offerings, Our Story, Tasting Room, Contact Us — with social and email icons always in reach.
